The Sneetches and Other Stories Book Review

9/14/2014

This has to be one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books. The story unfolds with two types of Sneetches: those with stars on their bellies and those without. The Sneetches with the stars feel that they are better than those without. Until one day, the starless Sneetches find a way to obtain the tummy star and turn the Sneetch world upside down.

Dr. Seuss presents the adult topics of cliques, jealousy and the need to belong in such a beautifylly simplistic way that children of all ages will easily be able to understand. The illustrations are wonderful, as always. In fact, I think that businesses should incorporate this story into their employee handbooks and manuals!
