Dr. Seuss presents the adult topics of cliques, jealousy and the need to belong in such a beautifylly simplistic way that children of all ages will easily be able to understand. The illustrations are wonderful, as always. In fact, I think that businesses should incorporate this story into their employee handbooks and manuals!
This has to be one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books. The story unfolds with two types of Sneetches: those with stars on their bellies and those without. The Sneetches with the stars feel that they are better than those without. Until one day, the starless Sneetches find a way to obtain the tummy star and turn the Sneetch world upside down.
