While her friends and family are getting into the Christmas spirit, she can only think about one thing: a puppy! Mini Mariah fell in love at first sight with one of the pooches from Puppy Love Adoption. She envisions the pup while baking cookies, building snowmen and even caroling.
The girl even begs Santa in person. Will he be able to bring her the only gift that can truly make her happy?
Mariah Carey is my favorite singer of all time. I love how she used the lyrics from one of her songs to make a Christmas story for children. I also love the overall theme and message of the book: Love is the most important gift of all.
As the proud pet parent of five rescue dogs and two rescue cats, I am thrilled that Mariah chose to shed light on the adoption option. This story truly shows how special the bond is between pets and their humans.
Colleen Madden did a fantastic job illustrating this story. I love that the main character is drawn to look like a younger version of Mariah. Knowing Mariah's love for Jack Russell's, I found it very fitting that Madden chose to draw such a pup as the object of the young girl's affection. I also feel that this makes the story more personal.
Just like her famous song, this book is sure to become a Christmas classic. For even more fun, readers can play the original song in the background while following along in the book.
